Books I’ve Read and Recommend

I love reading. It’s one of my favorite past times. Since 2020, I have made it my goal to read more books than I did the year before. I’ve gone from reading only 4 books in 2020 to reading 14 books in 2022! With that, there are three things I recommend doing in order to increase the number of books you read in a year.

1) Read the books you like! I love romance fiction, classic books, and self-development books. If you don’t read the books you enjoy, you’ll never finish them. That’s why it’s important to understand what kind of books you like!

2) Remember to alternate! I also find that when I read the same category of books in a row, I start to plateau on my reading. Make sure to switch it up with the kind of books you’re reading. If you’re reading self-development books twice in a row, try to mix in a romance fiction book after that before continuing on to reading another self-development book.

3) Get a library card! Take advantage of what your local library has to offer and sign up for a library card. Library cards are free and it gives you access to a vast selection of books on various topics. You may not get the books that just came out, but they do have a plethora of options to choose from. Who knows? Maybe you’ll come across something you would never think of reading and LOVE it! I also love that they give you a deadline. This helps me finish a book in a timely manner whereas if I borrow a book from a friend or buy one online, I tend to take my time reading it.

Since making it my goal to read more books each year, here is a list of all the books I’ve read since 2020. The books with two (**) next to the title are the books I recommend reading in 2023!
