My Summer Reading List

Let’s have some fun this summer and embark on various journeys with our very own summer reading list! If you’ve been following me on Instagram (@aliciakristina1), you would know that I am very much in my reading era at the moment. I love reading and I always have, but lately, I’ve been loving a very specific genre of books: the quintessential summer romance fiction. There’s something magical in the air about diving into cute stories that transport me to another place, reminding me of that summer feeling while following a delightful love story. It’s so relaxing, and although I love my non-fiction books and learning, these romantic tales have been my latest obsession.

That being said, I’ve read a lot of books so far and I’ve also compiled a little reading list for this summer. The best part? You don't have to buy these books. My favorite hack is finding them at my local library. However, if you’d like to purchase one, I’ve included links for them. So if you want to join me on an Elegant and Elevated summer vibe, here are some books that you can take on your next beach vacation, read outside on the deck with a glass of iced tea, or snuggle up with in bed.

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

This emotionally intense novel tells the story of Tate and Miles, who navigate a complicated relationship based on physical attraction with no strings attached. But as their pasts and feelings come into play, they must confront the truth about love and loss.

Every Summer After by Carley Fortune

A touching tale of childhood friends who spend every summer together until a tragic event tears them apart. Years later, they reconnect and must deal with the past to find if their friendship can turn into something more.

The Lost Vintage by Ann Mah

This captivating novel intertwines a young woman’s journey in discovering her family’s legacy in a French vineyard with a mystery rooted in World War II. It's a perfect blend of romance, history, and self-discovery.

Lies and Weddings by Kevin Kwan

From the author of Crazy Rich Asians, this novel dives into the extravagant world of the wealthy elite. It's filled with humor, drama, and, of course, romance, as the protagonist navigates love and deception within high society.

Funny Story by Emily Henry

Daphne’s life is turned upside down when her fiancé leaves her for his best friend. Stranded in Waning Bay, Michigan, she becomes roommates with Miles, her ex’s ex. Despite their differences, they form an unexpected friendship and a plan to post misleading photos of their adventures. It’s all for show—or is it?

This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune

Lucy spends summers at Prince Edward Island with her best friend, Bridget, avoiding Felix, Bridget’s younger brother, after a night they vowed never to repeat. When Bridget flees before her wedding, Lucy rushes to help, only to find her resolve tested as Felix’s charm draws her in once more.

The Paris Novel by Ruth Reichl

When Stella's estranged mother dies, she inherits a one-way ticket to Paris. Reluctantly, she goes and buys a Dior dress that leads her on an adventure. Meeting an art collector at Les Deux Magots, she uncovers a mystery in a Manet painting and discovers a passion for food, embracing life and finding her true home.

I hope these books bring as much joy and relaxation to your summer as they have to mine. Happy reading! xx
