End of Summer Edit: Be Present!

It’s midsummer. You can feel the heat, the days are long, and there’s much to celebrate. Whether you’re spending time at home or off on vacation, there’s still lots to enjoy for the rest of the summer season.

Something I am currently learning is how to enjoy the present moment. I am a planner at heart and while that is often a good thing, it can also steal me away from what’s currently going on in my life. It’s usually this time of year that I start getting excited for fall. I love fall and while it’s my favorite season, there’s still a month and a half of summer left. I’m often reminding myself that today is all I get. Tomorrow is not promised and when I look back on this time in my life I want to remember how I lived my life to the fullest.

Now, how do we do that exactly? We learn to appreciate every moment. Take nothing for granted and do the things we love and only can experience during the summer months. If you were to live the “perfect” summer season, what would that look like? What would you do? How would you spend your mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends, etc.?

For me, it’s having summer dinners with friends and family. It’s going hiking and spending time at the beach. It’s shopping at the farmers’ market and working hard throughout my weekdays. It’s trying new recipes. It’s traveling if I can. It’s also picking up a new sport or hobby.

I love celebrating, laughing, and enjoying my time. Why spend time stressing and planning for the future when all we have is now? Remember it’s good to plan to a certain extent, but don’t let that keep you from living your life today.

Now for the fashion, beauty, fitness things I’ve been eyeing because it’s not an Alicia seasonal edit without some things to shop. To fully enjoy the rest of the summer season, these are a few items I have my eye on and may already have purchased for myself.

Enjoy your summer my loves!

xx Alicia
