Discover My Hair Care Routine: Tips for Beautiful, Healthy, Shiny, Silky, Growing Hair

If you want to achieve beautiful, healthy, growing, silky, and shiny hair, you’ve come to the right place. My hair care routine aims to keep my hair in excellent condition, regardless of whether I wear it long or short. Good hair care has always been a top priority for me on my journey to better myself and my health. Here are the tips that have made a significant difference in my hair care routine.

Tip #1: Good Health

Taking care of yourself is critical to having great-looking hair. Good health is a direct reflection of how well you take care of yourself. Hormonal imbalances, stress, and even poor digestion can cause your hair to thin, look dull, and shed more than usual. Taking care of your body and making sure you’re getting the right nutrients should be your top priority before investing money and time in hair care.*

Tip #2: A Shower-Head Filter

The water you use can affect the texture and appearance of your hair. Hard water can make your hair dry, frizzy, and stringy. A shower-head filter can help soften the water, making it gentler on your hair and skin.

Tip #3: Ditch the Dry Shampoo and Remember Less is More

Less is more when it comes to hair products. Finer hair often requires less product compared to thicker hair. Reading the directions on the product packaging can help you determine how much product to use. Ditching dry shampoo has also made a significant difference in my hair texture. Repeated use of dry shampoo can cause irritation to the scalp and product buildup, leading to dandruff-like flakes. Instead of relying on dry shampoo, try washing your hair every other day and gradually extending the time between washes to train your hair and oil production. You might even find that your hair never actually needed dry shampoo to begin with!

Tip #4: Detox Shampoo

Using a detox shampoo once a week or every three washes can help remove product buildup, leading to healthier hair. Follow up with a nourishing hair mask and/or add hair oil to your ends to give your hair extra care.

Tip #5: Scalp Care

Taking care of your scalp is crucial for healthy hair growth. Using a scalp massager or giving yourself a scalp massage regularly can help stimulate blood flow, which can promote hair growth. Another product I added to my scalp care routine is a scalp oil that I massage into my scalp and let it sit for an hour or two before washing my hair. I believe that this step has helped with the fullness of my hair and has helped generate hair growth.

In conclusion, following these tips can help you achieve beautiful, healthy, growing, silky, and shiny hair. Remember that good hair care first starts with taking care of your overall health and well-being.

Other Hair Products I Use

*Note: Although I’m not a doctor or health practitioner, I recommend you to be very weary of using hair growth supplements. The reason I’m mentioning this is that I think we all want a quick fix remedy to our health and hair growth, so we may be quick to buy all of these supplements and products that we see on social media. Having good health, takes time. It may even take time to see the results you want. For me, it took a good six months to a year to now have hair that I love and hair that others notice. Therefore, I recommend to change your diet and other aspects of your life first before supplementing. If you need to take a multivitamin, I personally love the Designs for Health Multivitamins. These were recommended to me by my acupuncturist and I have been taking them for over a year now. What I love about these particular vitamins are that they contain the most bioavailable form of each vitamin which means that your body can absorb and process them. Again, I am not a doctor or health practitioner, therefore, please do not feel the need to buy if it’s not necessary or aligned with your health journey.
